Join presenter Bill Struck from the Steam Railroading Institute for a conversation about the 1225 Pere Marquette, which is the largest steam locomotive ever used in Michigan & is renowned for its role in the movie The Polar Express. The Steam Railroading Institute is a non-profit, located in Owosso, MI, & is dedicated to educating the public about steam era railroading in Michigan & the Great Lakes Region. This includes the preservation of the skills & technology for maintaining steam locomotives by operating steam era equipment & providing the experience of steam locomotives in actual operation, including the North Pole Express, which is available during the holiday season.
