Basics of Microsoft Word

Join members of the Marshall District Library technology team to learn the basics of Microsoft Word. This is a beginner’s class intended for those with little computer experience. Patrons should be able to use a computer mouse & have some familiarity with Microsoft Windows. Marshall District Library will provide laptops for this class. This hands-on program is intended for ages 18+ & registration is required. Look for this program on Tues, Oct 18 in the evening & Wed, Oct 19 in the morning; please register for the day/time that works best for you. Topics covered will be:
- Starting new documents
- Saving documents in different locations
- Opening a previously saved document
- Printing a document
- Changing font, font color, & font size
- Copying & pasting text
- Alignment & spacing of text
- Changing margins & layout
- Creating lists with bullet points & numbers
- Adding photos
- Spell check & other review features
- Alternatives to Microsoft Word such as Google Docs & LibreOffice
